Kirsty Aitchison,30 – Sep 17, 1985 ~ Jun 18, 2016

Kirsty Aitchison, 30 and mother of four, went missing in the early hours of 12 June after leaving a social event for deaf people at Campus bar in Sauchiehall Street. Her family and friends started a search party with police to look for Aitchison. They were very worried about her safety. Aitchison used British Sign Language (BSL). The disappearance started after a night out with friends in Glasgow on June 11, 2016 as according to the news media. Later, she was seen on a CCTV in Broomielaw area near River Clyde while walking barefoot. A witness seen the missing mother leaving the Sauchiehall Street area. Unfortunately, a week into her disappearance, she was found dead in the river On June 18. Her funeral was held in Daldowie Crematorium in Uddingston two weeks since she went missing. She left behind her children, family members, and friends from the Deaf community.

A fundraising event set up to support Aitchison’s family has now reached more than £15,000 and those at the funeral were thanked for their support and generosity.
